MacAllister has been publishing her work for over twenty-five years in every facet of genre short story, fiction, non-fiction, and poetry. Her work in short fiction and poetry has seen over 350 publications. She has edited and published four books: WRITERS ON THE WATER'S EDGE, for CHOCOLATE LOVERS, OCEAN GROVE POETRY SAMPLER, RIPASSO.

Her work has won awards, the most notable, International Writers and Editors competition for several unpublished book chapters and her collection of children's stories NEVER TRUST A MONKEY, and her short story Daydream Tattoo, was chosen for re-publication by CHICKEN SOUP publishers as one of their favorite 100 stories over their fifteen years of publication, and is a consistent winner of Princeton's US#1 newspaper SUMMER FICTION issues for her fiction and poetry submissions.

Her work has been read in theater stage productions, and on the radio in Australia, England, and Ireland, and was a guest speaker, on air, for UFO magazine based on her published science-fiction novella MAYAN CALENDAR REVEAL. She served as speaker at the Philadelphia Writers' Winter Conference in genre writing, and author-spokeswoman for horror at the Jersey Devil Con, and at conferences, in bookstores, and serves as editor /judge in many writing venues, including the NATIONAL FEDERATION OF STATE POETRY SOCIETIES, and the BRAM STOKER AWARDS.

MacAllister wrote simultaneously for three local weekly newspapers for over four years, THE COASTER, THE ATLANTIC HERALD, TWO RIVERS TIMES, and contributed to THE ASBURY PARK PRESS and THE STAR-LEDGER with freelance articles, as well as magazine articles in LIVING ABOARD magazine, and online newsletter articles on crafting various genres. Her work as Puerto Rico Travel Reporter for the EXAMINER produced informative articles that were cited by the Island Travel Bureau.

THE BLACKMOOR TALES is published by Northampton House Press with a collection of her short horror and dark fantasy stories. Her short story, Whirl Away, published in NIGHT BAZAAR by NHP was cited by PUBLISHERS WEEKLY as one of the outstanding works.

She is currently completing her first novel, Wind at My Back, an historical tale of a homeless Irish boy on the streets of NYC during the 1850s. The Inconvenient Child (working title) is a memoir near completion, and she is currently developing a horror novel for NHP.

MacAllister holds an undergraduate degree in education and two MAs in creative writing, and an MFA in Fiction. Her MA and MFA in Fine Arts lead to her artwork exhibited at the National Academy of Design in two group shows, and over twenty-five one-woman shows in the NYC metropolitan area, and was a member of Women In the Arts. MacAllister is a past founder and officer of the Garden State Horror Writers, member of Sisters In Crime, AWP member, Cassell Network Press, and co-founder of the Walt Whitman Poetry Festival in Ocean Grove, NJ, and co-founder of the Tri-Muse writers, that has grown into the Jersey Shore Writers.

MacAllister has taught school, was financial manager of a family owned manufacturing company, was one of twelve licensed electrical contractors in NJ where she owned and operated two union electrical contracting businesses. She also owned and operated an exclusive construction and design company of business fit-ups for several large financial/security companies. She holds three technical certifications in Electro-Mechanical design, Architectural Design, and Civil Engineering technology, in addition to holding a US Merchant Marine 100 ton Captain's license.

MacAllister has lived in various parts of the US and enjoys the diversity of the west and east coasts, NYC metropolitan area, the mid-west, the antebellum south, and the island of Puerto Rico where she lived fulltime for twelve years.
